How I can help
My name is Russell and I am a BACP registered counsellor who provides a safe and confidential space for people to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours in times of need.
My approach is largely person-centred, meaning that I believe that everyone has the ability to overcome their problems and achieve their goals, under the correct conditions. My role within the therapeutic relationship is to support you on your journey towards greater self-awareness and understanding.
I have more than 5 years of experience working with people dealing with anxiety, depression, low self esteem or confidence issues, issues expressing anger and recovery from troublesome coping mechanisms.
LGBTQ+
Issues
I specialise in working with LGBTQ+ issues and understand that the intersection of identity and sexuality can be complex and challenging.
I have worked with individuals who are questioning their sexuality, coming out, or struggling to navigate relationships within the LGBTQ+ community, as well as those beginning to explore their gender identity and transitioning.
I provide a non-judgmental and accepting space where you can explore your feelings and experiences without fear of rejection or discrimination.
Bereavement
Bereavement is another area of specialisation for me. Losing a loved one can be one of the most difficult experiences we face in life. It can be overwhelming and confusing, and it can feel like the world has stopped spinning. It can also bring out a host of emotions and thoughts we wouldn’t normally expect to feel. Whether the loss you have suffered is recent or in the distant past, I am here to help you navigate the grief process in a way that is compassionate, supportive, and healing.
